Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). In her early years she attended at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was six years old when she realized she wanted to become an actress. She studied for a number of years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. Her performances had been in a variety of Stagecoach or school shows when she was 10 years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film adaption to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman announced to Emma that following eight auditions Emma and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's first film appearance came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film broke records for beginning-day and weekend-opening sales and was the highest-grossing film of 2001. It was highly acclaimed by critics, as were the performances of its three starlets. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British newspaper, was awed by her for her exceptional performance. Emma received five awards to honor her role in the movie.
